About Hunters Like Us
Hunters Like Us is the product of a 40-year hunting journey. During that time, it became clear that the black hunter has a unique voice, history, and relationship with nature. This story is compelling, insightful, and exciting. HLU is a platform for cultural expression and believes that hunting is a spiritual journey rather than a sport. We stand against excess killing of animals and believe that we can grow our humanity through natures tutelage.​
Our Mission
Hunters Like Us chronicles the historic and contemporary hunting experience through the Black lens. It recognizes the interconnectedness of all creatures be they human, mammal, fish, or fowl and works to redefine our relationship with nature. Additionally, HLU serves as the stage for the Beckworth-Love deer hunting registry. The B&L registry collects, documents and archives data and images for educational and research purposes.
